The HSMC will have 2 bake sales at the Huntington Bank in West Jefferson. December 16th will have cookies and candy and December 23rd will have cookies, candy, cakes and pies.

If you are a baker and would love to donate items, please contact the shelter today.

Santa Pictures and Adoption Day

Santa and the HSMC will be at the PetSmart, Westpointe Plaza in Columbus off Hilliard Rome Road on Saturday, December 10th. Pictures will be taken from 11am to 4pm. The cost is $9.99 with $5.00 going to the HSMC.

The HSMC will also have several of the dogs and cats up for adoption at the event. We are hoping to find them homes before the holidays.

The Sprint for 5K-- update

The Sprint for Spring 5K was a smashing hit. The HSMC would like to thank Dwyer Chiropractic for being the host and Sponsors Re/Max for the use of their parking lot and other stuff. Thanks to all the runners and walkers. Also a thanks to all the volunteers. A special thanks to our own Cathy Leistikow for heading up our end of this event.

About the Sprint for Spring 5K

Welcome to Dwyer Chiropractic's first Annual 5K to support our local community. Proceeds from this event will benefit the Humane Society of Madison County. Dwyer Chiropractic is making this year a miracle year for pets! We hope that you will join us on this day to support a great charity and enjoy a nice run or walk.

The HSMC is having their Holiday Bake Sale on Friday, December 17th at Huntington Bank in West Jefferson. This event starts around 9:00am and last until all the goodies are gone.

If you are a baker and would like to donate items, please contact the shelter. You can drop off the goods at the shelter on thursday or take them straight to the bank on friday.

7th Annual Paws and Pals Dinner Auction

7th Annual Paws & Pals Charity Dinner and Auction is November 6th. This RSVP Dinner is hosted by Der Dutchman Restaurant of Plain City. Cost is $30.00 per single or $50.00 per couple. Dinner is Family Style which includes roast beef, chicken, mashed potatoes, corn, dressing, salad, beverage and dessert. Vegetarian entree of either fish or steamed vegies is available.

There are several really cool items up for adoption this year. You could do your Christmas shopping early.

Spay-ghetti Dinner

Mark the date to help us celebrate! We're celebrating Spay Day. The special day was founded by the Doris Day Foundation to educate and promotes spaying and neutering companion pets. This is our first Spay Day event and we could think of no better group to team up with than the Black & Orange Cat Foundation. They do a fabulous job with stray and feral cats in the Plain City Area.

Our Spayghetti Supper provides a chance to educate, raise funds for spay/neuters as well as enjoy good food with great company.

Our Spay Day event is a "Spay-ghetti" dinner being held on Saturday, February 20 in conjunction with the The Black and Orange Cat Foundation in Plain City. The dinner will be from 5-7p.m. at Saint Joseph's Catholic Church's Parish Activity Center (the PAC), located at 670 West Main Street in Plain City (behind the fire station). We'll have spay-ghetti, with or without meatballs, salad, rolls, and a beverage. Cost is $7.00 for adults and $5.00 for children under 12 yrs and $20 for a family of 2 adults and 2 children. We also plan to have a bake sale of "human" desserts, as well as delicious dog treats.

The Jonathan Alter High School Show Choir will be performing at 6:00pm and we will have a 50/50 drawing as well.

We hope you will come and enjoy our First Spay Day Event.

We also need volunteers for this event. If you can help with set up, cooking, serving, and tear down, please let us know by emailing or calling the shelter.

Adoption Day, saturday, February 13th from 11-2 at Petsmart-Westpointe Plaza in Columbus off Hilliard Rome Road. There will be a few of our prison dogs along with some of our cats. Hope you can come.

Bake Sale December 18th

The HSMC is having a bake sale on December 18th from 9:00am until all the baked goods are gone. The bake sale will be at Huntington Bank in West Jefferson. Baked goods can be dropped off at the shelter the day before or at the bank day of.
